It is a tasty treat for children and adults alike and is a healthier snack compared to other deep fried items.

Arisi muruku is easy to make with very few ingredients. Here is a simple recipe for this mouth-watering snack.

Ingredients:

  1. Rice flour – 2 cups
  2. Fried gram flour (Pottu kadala maavu/Putnala pindi/Roasted bengal gram flour) – 1 cup
  3. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp(or according to taste)
  4. Butter – 4 tbsp
  5. Ajwain seeds (Omam/Vaamu/carom seeds) – 2 tsp
  6. Sesame seeds (Ellu/Nuvvulu) – 2 tbsp
  7. Cooking oil – 300 ml
  8. Salt –  as needed
  9. Water – as needed for a firm dough
