  1. Whole green moong dal – 1 cup (Green gram/pesara pappu/pachai payuru)
  2. Rice flour – 2 tbsp
  3. Ginger – 1/2 inch small piece
  4. Red chili – 1
  5. Asafoetida powder – 1/2 tsp (hing/inguva/perungayam)
  6. Onion – 1 medium chopped finely
  7. Salt – 1 tsp
  8. Coriander leaves – chopped handful (optional)
