Ingredients

  1. Ginger – 2 square pieces of ginger (1 inch by 1 inch size) (allam/ingi)
  2. Onion -1 big
  3. Chana dal – 2 tbsp
  4. Red chili – 2
  5. Tamarind – 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp (Jeera)
  7. Oil – 1tbsp
  8. Salt – as needed

For tempering:

  1. Chana dal – 1 tsp
  2. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  3. Urad dal split – 1 tsp
  4. Red Chili – 1
  5. Curry leaves – 10
  6. Oil – 1 tsp
